Donald Winnicott, Pediatriatican/Psychoanalyst
Ambivalence is often part of this process, as meaningful change can bring both challenge and possibility. It may feel hopeful yet unsettling to consider change, or to enter into a relationship where so much attention is directed inward.
Therapy is a thoughtful exploration of the inner world, including thoughts, feelings, and patterns that may lie outside awareness yet shape experience, relationships, and perspective. Grounded in contemporary psychoanalytic thinking, my approach is guided by respect for each person’s unique identities. I aim to create space for what emerges in the moment as well as for deeper, often unconscious patterns that influence emotions, relationships, and well-being.
In an hour together, exploration may unfold through words, silences, or the subtler ways of experiencing that carry meaning beyond what is spoken. Having an attentive presence lies at the heart of the approach I bring. By examining recurring themes in the here and now, early experiences in the there and then, and ongoing unconscious dynamics, therapy can support lasting change in how a person relates to themselves and the world.
Depending on the intensity of challenges or the level of support desired, more frequent meetings can sometimes provide the continuity and acknowledgment that allow important insights to emerge. The rhythm and frequency of sessions can be shaped to meet each person’s needs.
